Richard Breakspear is a British multimedia composer known for his dark ambient style, blending traditional orchestration with contemporary elements. Born in Lewes, a small town on the South Coast of England, Richard grew up passionate about songwriting and film scoring. In 2007, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he quickly established himself in the composing world, scoring music for the CBS show CSI: NY and Top Gear USA.

In 2011, Richard scored the short film Everything Carries Me To You, directed by Emma Holly Jones (Mr Malcolm’s List) starring Matthew Rhys, Ben Robson, and Janet Montgomery. The film premiered at the Beverly Hills Film Festival to critical acclaim. His work has since featured in trailers for major films like Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Girl With All The Gifts, Lights Out, and The Avengers, as well as in marketing campaigns for major networks like Marvel, Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu.

His original compositions have been placed in many world wide commercial campaigns for Ford, Ferrari, Kinder, Vanish, Warner Bros. Theme Parks, GQ magazine

He is currently working on several film and TV projects, including the limited comedy series CAUGHT, starring two-time Oscar winner Sean Penn.
